Living in the Power of the Resurrection

Living in the Power of the Resurrection

Introduction

Easter Monday follows the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. While Easter Sunday focuses on the victory over death, Easter Monday reminds believers to live out the reality of that resurrection power daily.

The resurrection is not just an event—it is a life-transforming experience for every Christian.

1. The Reality of the Resurrection

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the foundation of the Christian faith.

Matthew 28:5–6 – “He is not here: for he is risen…”

1 Corinthians 15:14 – “If Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain…”

* Jesus truly rose from the dead

* The resurrection confirms His divinity

* It gives assurance of eternal life

2. The Power of the Resurrection

The same power that raised Jesus is available to believers.

Romans 8:11 – “The Spirit… shall also quicken your mortal bodies”

Philippians 3:10 – “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection…”

* Power over sin

* Power for holy living

* Power to overcome challenges

3. Walking in Newness of Life

Easter Monday calls believers to a new lifestyle.

Romans 6:4 – “…walk in newness of life”

2 Corinthians 5:17 – “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature…”

* Old life must be left behind

* New character in Christ

* Daily transformation

4. The Great Commission Continues

After His resurrection, Jesus gave instructions to His disciples.

Matthew 28:19–20 – “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations…”

Mark 16:15 – “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel…”

* Share the message of salvation

* Be a witness of Christ

* Continue the work of the Kingdom

5. Hope and Assurance for Believers

The resurrection gives believers hope beyond this life.

John 11:25 – “I am the resurrection, and the life…”

1 Peter 1:3 – “…a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ…”

* Assurance of eternal life

* Victory over death

* Confidence in God’s promises

Conclusion

Easter Monday is not just a continuation of celebration—it is a call to action. Believers must:

* Live in the power of the resurrection

* Reflect Christ in daily life

* Share the good news with others

*Closing Prayer

Lord, help us to walk daily in the power of Your resurrection. Let our lives reflect Your glory, and give us grace to live as true witnesses of Christ. Amen.
